Internalisasi Nilai Budaya Lokal dalam Pendidikan Islam sebagai Upaya Penguatan Identitas Keagamaan

This study aims to analyze the internalization of local cultural values in Islamic education as an effort to strengthen students’ religious identity. Local culture represents a social heritage containing values that are often aligned with Islamic teachings, such as mutual cooperation, tolerance, and social ethics. In the context of globalization and modernization, the religious identity of younger generations faces challenges due to shifting values and the influence of external cultures that may not always align with Islamic principles. Therefore, integrating local cultural values into Islamic education is essential to maintain a balance between religious and cultural identities. This research employs a qualitative approach using descriptive methods through literature review and observation of Islamic educational practices that incorporate local culture. The findings indicate that the internalization of local cultural values can be implemented through curriculum integration, contextual learning methods, and habitual practices within the school environment. Local cultural values that align with Islamic teachings can strengthen students’ religious identity in a more contextual and practical manner. However, critical selection of cultural values is necessary to ensure conformity with sharia principles. Thus, the internalization of local cultural values becomes an effective strategy in building a strong, moderate, and socially relevant religious identity.
